A grocery list for a GLP‑1 routine

When your appetite shrinks, what is in the kitchen matters more. This list follows the priorities of the 2025 nutrition advisory for GLP-1 therapy — enough protein, fibre and fluids, in portions you can actually finish.

Is there a GLP-1 diet?

No. The 2025 joint advisory sets priorities rather than a fixed diet: getting enough nutrients from a much smaller amount of food, with a variety of nutrient-dense, minimally processed foods such as fruit, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, lean proteins, nuts and seeds.[1] The Dietary Guidelines for Americans describe the same general pattern for everyone.[2]

What principles shape the list?

  • Protein at each meal, because a smaller appetite can quietly cut protein intake and lean mass matters during weight loss.[1]
  • Fibre and fluids — the advisory encourages both for constipation, which is common with weight loss.[1]
  • Fluids through the day: the labels warn that vomiting or diarrhoea can lead to dehydration.[3][4]
  • Smaller, simpler meals. The labels say these medicines slow stomach emptying;[3][4] the advisory notes that smaller, more frequent meals, and avoiding fatty or high-fibre foods in the first few days of treatment, can ease nausea.[1]

What does PepLabo not do?

PepLabo does not plan meals or build shopping lists for you, and it does not mark any food as allowed or forbidden. It records what you eat and drink so you and your clinician can see the pattern.

Questions

Is there an official GLP-1 diet?

No. The 2025 joint advisory sets nutrition priorities — adequate protein, fibre and fluids, nutrient-dense food — rather than a fixed diet.[1] Your clinician or dietitian can tailor it.

What does “GLP-1 friendly” mean in PepLabo?

It is a filter for foods that are higher in protein or fibre. It is general wellness information, not medical advice and not a list of allowed or forbidden foods.
